With the Senator Saraki stint as President of the inaugural Senate of the 8th National Assembly seemingly coming to an inglorious end, one person who will be having the last laugh in all the drama that was the Bukola stay in office, is no other person than Senator Kabiru Marafa.
Senator Marafa who is the Spokesman of the Unity Forum in the Senate, has been abused, intimidated and almost strangled out of the Senate by loyalists of the Senate President and pacifists in the ruling All Progressives Congress APC in the Senate but he still remained resolute in his stand that the present occupier of the seat does not deserve to be there and ought to leave as soon as possible.

His position has always remained that Saraki who is a two term governor of Kwara State is not the party's choice and therefore, cannot be trusted to assit the president deliver his change agenda.
Some people may not admire his rabid style of critiquing the Saraki leadership but the truth is that no one can take away his loyalty to the cause of the party and Mr. President's desire to bring about positive change in the country.
I admire the zeal, dedication and rational sense of purpose with which Marafa has used in opposing the Saraki led contraption. The APC with which they rode to power after destroying the country with PDP in the last sixteen years as evident in reports upon reports of corruption reeled out against him cannot identify with him and it will be a huge joke to let such a person with corruption laden records and a serious corruption case hanging on his head hold a position as dignified as that of the Senate President.
The APC gave Nigerians a promise of change which I believe no matter the challenges at present, they will deliver. President Muhammadu Buhari is sincere in his quest to build a better foundation and also chart a new course for the country but he cannot achieve this with people who will be seen to sabotage his efforts.
The various conspiracy and sabotage that has continually pervaded his relationship with the National Assembly particularly the Senate is as a result of this distrust. If Saraki sees himself as a patriotic Nigerian, (I doubt he is) he should have resigned his position to make way for good, efficient and effective governance. This he has refused to do.
Just the other day the Prime Minister of Iceland Sigmundor Gunnlaugson, a country of not more than 350,000 persons resigned his position as premier over the Panama secret offshore account revelations for which Saraki's name has popped out multiple times. I doubt if the level of allegations in his case is comparable to the level of heist alleged against Saraki but as a patriotic citizen he decided to resign for the good of the nation. Why can't Saraki do same?
I trust that Sen. Marafa who has been vindicated despite his travails, along other dedicated party faithful in the Red Chambers will do the needful when the Senate reconvenes. Nigerians must feel the change no body or interest can stop it and the party must drive its promise to the promised land with its crew this is how we can achieve the promised change.
May God help our leaders appreciate the sufferings of the masses.
