A member of
the House of Representatives representing Abadam/ Guzamala/ Kukawa/ Mobbar Federal
Constituency Borno state Hon. Mallam Bukar Gana has hailed the anti-corruption war of President
Muhammadu Buhari describing it as a successful one.
The member made this known
in a media interaction with journalists in his office. Hon. Bukar said the
promise of the President to fight corruption in government is ongoing and will
yield results especially with the invitations made so far against people who
looted money.
The Federal
lawmaker also said he welcomed the World Bank loan the President secured for
the reconstruction and rehabilitation work in the North East stressing that
such gesture will go a long way to help assuage the sufferings which the people
of the region are going through.
Hon. Bukar
Gana who is serving his first term in office said he will be rooting for the
creation of a Special Commission to help develop the North eastern region. He
said considering the devastation the region has gone through over the issue of
insurgency, the North East should have a special Commission to develop the
region. “We need a Commission or special kind of interventionist arrangement to
help in reconstruction and rehabilitation in the North East. The people have
suffered untold hardship and the best way to show that the government cares for
them is to create an interventionist outfit to help in reconstruction of the
region and rehabilitation of the people” the federal lawmaker said
