THE National and State House of Assembly Election Petition
Tribunal sitting in Asaba yesterday dismissed a petition filed by Chief Felix
Anirah of the All Progressives Congress (APC) challenging the victory of the
Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Speaker of the Delta State House of
Assembly, Chief Monday Igbuya.
Delivering judgement, the tribunal chairman, Justice
Adebukola Bamjoko said the petitioner failed to proved his allegations of
fraud, over-voting and non- compliance with the Electoral Act.
Reacting to the ruling, Igbuya who represents Sapele
Constituency in the House, dedicated his victory to the rule of law and his
constituents.
Besieged by well-wishers and party faithful, the Speaker
appealed to his opponents to join him in developing Sapele and the entire
state.
