National chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, has called on members of the party to reconcile with each other and accept compromise in the interest of Nigeria and the party.
Oyegun spoke to Journalist at the party's National headquarters Thursday ahead of today's National Executive Council (NEC) of the party said that members of the APC must bear it in mind that they have to amicably resolve the internal conflict and other challenges facing the party.
He said the party has already reached out to its members in its effort to fully reconcile the members due to what transpired lately especially in  the National Assembly crisis and other important issues.
"For me, I think that there is no other way to resolve the conflict other than for all of us to accept compromise. Each one of us will loose face and that is the only way forward,"he said.
The party and some of its members in the National Assembly were recently at loggerheads over the election of the Senate president, the speaker of the House of Representatives.
Senator Bukola Saraki and Yakubu Dogara emerged as Senate president and the Speaker House of Representatives respectively against the party's choice of Senator Ahmed Lawal and Femi Gbajabiamila who emerged through a straw vote conducted by the party.
Nominees for the positions of principal officers of the National Assembly forwarded by the party were also rejected‎ by the leadership of both chambers which aggravated the already tensed situation.
The party rejected both the emergence of both Saraki and Dogara in a strong worded statement which was later followed by threat to sanction the principal actors in the face off between the party and the National Assembly.
However the party in a reconciliatory effort later issued another statement calling on its aggrieved members to reconcile with the party based on some agreed terms which culminated in the meeting of the National Chairman of the party and the Senate president and the speaker House of Representatives.
